Course Details

Glounthaune Community Centre, Glounthaune, Cork. T45 K124. A 6-week course commencing Thursday 7th November 2024.  ​ Late Autumn and early Winter are represented by rising Yin energy. When we look at how Nature is moving with this seasonal change, we see the vibrant colours of the landscape - gold, red and brown. We see the trees are letting go of their leaves and the withdrawal of the sap down into the roots. Nature moves towards resting and slowing down. Deep within the earth, the roots continue to deepen and strengthen over winter, so that the tree is able to move with and withstand storm forces, and will emerge again in Spring, expanded and strong. Winter stillness hides the deep work of restoration, rejuvenation and core nourishment at play. We too are invited to move towards a more restful practice in our Qigong. It is because of stillness that we can rest, restore and strengthen into our own deep core. As external forces and responsibilities continue to speed up, challenge and grab our attention, it is wise to cultivate the skills of becoming mindfully present, letting go and returning to our core being. From here, wisdom and calm clarity can emerge, and with them the joy of peacefulness and care in the midst of our daily actions. ​We will also revisit the Daoyin Yang Sheng Gong - 12 movement Qigong Form with a particular focus on the Yin organs of the Lungs and Kidneys, and their partner Yang organs, the Large Intestine and the Bladder. ​​As with all courses, we emphasise the core principles of T'ai Chi and Qigong. We take a meditative approach with inner listening to the body and its feedback.
